La cerimonia, condotta da James Corden ha visto salire sul palco numerosi artisti: ad aprire le danze ci ha pensato Adele sulle note della celebre "Hello", vincitrice di Song Of The Year e Record Of The Year, poi è arrivato il turno di The Weeknd che con i Daft Punk ha offerto un medley di "Starboy" e "I Feel It Coming". Dopo un duetto che ha visto protagonisti le country star Keith Urban e Carrie Underwood, sul palco è salito Ed Sheeran con la sua "Shape On You".
Non è assolutamente mancata Beyoncé che sfoggiando un tenero pancione ha intonato "Love Drought" e "Sandcastles" ballad contenute dal suo acclamato "Lemonade", che sfortunatamente si è portato a casa meno premi di quanto si pensasse.
Si sono susseguiti; Bruno Mars, Little Big Town, Katy Perry, che ha eseguito per la prima volta il suo nuovo singolo "Chained To The Rhythm", Alicia Keys, la rock band Metallica con Lady Gaga e moltissimi altri,
A chiudere lo show ci hanno pensato John Legend e Cynthia Erivo che hanno omaggiato due musicisti venuti a mancare recentemente.
Ma durante la cerimonia sono stati offerti altri tre tributi: ai Bee Gees, a Georgie Michael, e all'indiscusso Prince.
